IMPORTANT INFORMATION FOR DIABETIC PATIENTS Posted on 17 Jun 2016

ATTENTION - ALL PATIENTS WITH DIABETES USING  A BLOOD GLUCOSE MONITOR.

The clinical standards for blood glucose monitors have recently changed.

Strips for meters which do not meet the new ISO 15197:2013 standard will no longer be available.

If you use a meter and registered it with the manufacturer at the time it was supplied, they should have sent you a new machine if necessary.

If you didn’t register it you will need to make sure your meter complies with the new standard by either checking online, or contacting the manufacturer of your machine.

If you need a new meter, the manufacturers of you old machine will be able to supply a new one  if you contact them directly.

Please remember if you are supplied with a new machine - you will need to contact our Prescription Department with the details of your new lancets and strips. We can them update your repeat medication record so that we issue compatible supplies when you next need them.
